Patricia Richardson
Patricia Castle Richardson, born 23 February 1951 was an American actor from the United States. She is most well-known for her role as Jill Taylor on ABC's sitcom Home Improvement. For this role , she was nominated twice for the Golden Globe Award and twice for the Primetime Emmy Award as Outstanding Lead Actress in the field of Comedy Series. In her role on Ulee's Gold (1997) the show, she was also recognized with an Independent Spirit Award.
Childhood and early life
Richardson was educated at a variety of schools that included Holton-Arms School as well as Hockaday School. Richardson graduated in 1972. Southern Methodist University graduate. She was close with her students Beth Henley, and Stephen Tobolowsky. But she was also bound by other obligations under contract when the show began filming. Tobolowsky recommended the idea that Richardson be considered for the part as Jill Taylor, after Frances Fisher was too serious.
